For the Interior Lifestyle Fair in Tokyo, a fair which is oriented toward interior accessories, GDD represented Karimoku New Standard in 2016. The stand GDD produced was characterised by a landscape of monolithic dark grey cubes that subdivided the space into 4 main areas. These subtle cubes served as podiums without overwhelming the accessories they displayed or obstructing the passage through the stand. The floor and walls of the stand were made of the plain birch plywood which is a consistent design mainstay for Karimoku New Standard exhibitions. The plywood as a material is honest, neutral and natural, with references to nordic modernism.
