Maison&Objet, Paris 2014

For the second exhibition of Karimoku New Standard at Maison&Objet in Paris, David Glaettli/GDD designed a stand in the curated “NOW” area of the fair.  Channeling design concepts in order to make the best use of the limited space of about 40m2, David Glaettli/GDD structured the space with a landscape of podiums of different heights, and integrated the reception counter into one of them. David Glaettli/GDD underlined the timeless and functional approach of Karimoku New Standard by using simple, plain materials such as smooth white melamin podiums, an untreated birch plywood floor and light grey painted walls, as well as the characteristic colours of the collection.
David Glaettli/GDD enjoyed a free hand in this project, handling everything from stand location, concept and design, coordination with the fair operator and the local constructor as well as supervision of the construction on site.
